Greetings and Welcome
I recently finished writing, arranging, producing and performing on a CD with the great oboist ANNA FISHER. The cd is called "YIN YANG". You need to take a listen to the cool sound that we're getting on an oboe and English horn rubbing against my luscious keyboard styling.

No one instrument is more or less important than another.
Our music has lots of fresh ideas we're sure you'll appreciate.
"Come On Back" by Jawge
and The UKB on the Orgen Music Label, is still available!!!
Inside the gorgeous Caribbean Paradise Scene album cover
reads: "A masterful blend of Reggae, and Dancehall with an aromatic hint
of Jazz, a potpourri of essential island flavors is what fans have come
to expect from Jawge & The UKB. Enter a world that vibrates with the
rhythms of the azure blue seas of St. Thomas. Immerse yourself in the pulsating
energy that is both sensual and hypnotic."
"Dance the night away to the signature beat that made
Mr. "Jawge" Hughes, the reggae master who has supported acts such as Bunny
Wailer, Judy Mowatt, Joe Higgs, The Mighty Diamonds, Leroy Sibbles, Stranger
Cole, Freddie McGregor, The Itals, Pato Banton, Dennis Brown, The Wailing
Souls to name a few."
Jawge Hughes is a native of St. Thomas, has toured with
most every reggae star. Jawge's authentic reggae style and toasts fuse
with his vast eclectic musical knowledge,Along with all his friends that
performed on the CD makes it a must for listeners into the whole Caribbean
music experience.
The whole album is a long musical exploration, from Upfull
Ska sounds, Dance hall rhythms, Fusion Reggae to the deadly one-drop Roots
Reggae style, As well as some judiciously placed samples. Featuring on
this CD is the late Joe Higgs who drop the most wicked and energetic Nyabinghi
drumming that propelled the tracks to another level. A level that one would
expect from the master who single handily thought the Wailers (Bob Marley,
Peter Tosh. Bunny Wailer) among others. Jawge says " I always try to be
adventurous with music. Keeping it simple. But there is always some challenging
surprises in it."
